Maybe some of you feel that you have become a smart worker? Try to answer the following questions:
- Do you love your job?
- Do you feel you have a big stake in your workplace?
- Do you feel productive enough to accompany your company's progress?
If most of your answers are "YES" then you are a good asset to your company. If most of your answers are "NO", you should consider looking for another job or be prepared to be tired to go through it.
Let's move on to the next question:
- Does your coworker often contact you outside of working hours to talk about work?
- Do you often stay late or even work on weekend or holidays?
- Do you often talk about work with your co-workers outside working hours?
- Do you feel awkward with your co-workers outside the office?
If most of your answers are "YES" it's a sign you're a Hard Worker! Do not be proud, that's not a compliment. Instead, you have to start learning to organize and respect the time. Maybe you do not mind to be contacted outside working hours. But for some people, it is time-corruption. Friends, you could change your mood with just an SMS on a holiday. Very disrespectful!
There are some tips for becoming a productive worker:
1. Make a list of jobs according to priority
Priorities can be determined by deadlines and risks. The less time you have and the greater your risk will have high priority and vice versa. Start with the highest priority without forgetting the other tasks. With this list, you will at least know what you have done, and how you spent your time in the office.
2. New strategy
Are you comfortable with how you work? Many roads to Rome! There are many ways to do your tasks to be more productive and efficient. For example, do you usually shop stationery in the store, why not try an online shopping app? In addition to competitive prices, you can use your time to work on other tasks. Or for you who is a marketing who always bring a proposal, occasionally challenge yourself to make a presentation using PowerPoint or other slideshows to present your product. It certainly will increase the interest of clients, save your time of printing the proposal, save your bag space (you will only bring a small USB), and lower cost too.
3. Don't forget to have fun
As a human, of course having fun is one of the necessities of healthy living. Just imagine if you work for a week plus overtime and a boss who always contact you on the weekend and holidays. It feels like the head is going to explode! Working too hard will not make you productive. Instead, you will experience some error in your body system, even to get sick. Therefore, you need to rest and have fun. Speak carefully with your boss and colleagues to appreciate your time too.
